Beirut born Hala Abdulmalak holds both the Lebanese and Canadian nationalities. She has worked and studied in Lebanon, USA, Canada, Dubai, Holland and Paris. With more than ten years experience in the communication field mostly as a Brand Planner, leading all strategic decisions across the agency portfolio and heading new business pitches, she has worked on award winning campaigns for blue-chip clients like P&G, Audi, GSK, MasterFoods, and Visa within others.

Hala was also an adjunct professor at the American University in Dubai, also giving seminars in different countries. She also headed and led a small creative agency boutique in Dubai before starting to consult with design shops, particularly with Tarek Atrissi Design in the Netherlands.

Hala is passionate about electronic music especially progressive house and minimal electro, film, photography and always drinks her coffee black. She loves to snowboard and is an avid fan of Yohji Yammamoto, Enki Bilal and David Lynch. With a multicultural background and upbringing, Hala is always on the move, ready to meet more interesting people from all over. She is more a night owl than an early bird, often staying up very late, whether to work or party; she definitely lives life to the full!

She is currently pursuing an MFA in Design Criticism at the School of Visual Arts and resides in Chelsea, New York.
